Booking a Sales Job into Service

Step 1: Identify the Job Card

  • Write “Sales Department” in the customer box, along with the stock number.

  • Pro tip: Add the purchaser’s name underneath (in brackets) for extra clarity.

Step 2: Motorcycle Details

  • Enter all relevant motorcycle details in the box to the right.

  • Don’t forget the date and location of the machine—SR stands for showroom.

Step 3: Label the Machine

  • Indicate on the card whether the machine has been labelled.

  • The label should include both the stock number and customer name.

Step 4: Salesperson Info & Job Requirements

  • In the “order number” field, the salesperson writes their own name.

  • List all job requirements clearly below.

Step 5: Set Delivery Date & Time

  • Record the required delivery date and time for the job.

  • If you know a big job is coming up, give as much advance notice as possible—your service team will thank you!

Step 6: Parts Management

  • If parts have been ordered or received for this job, record the details in the parts record area on the back of the job card.

  • If a part has arrived, tick the box and note its location in the new parts location field.

Step 7: Handover to Service

  • Take the completed job card straight to the service department.

  • Place it in the “New Job Arrivals” section of the quick-find cabinet, ready for scheduling.
